I love transitioning to fall makeup looks. One easy way to do that is just with the color of your lipstick. I am really a nudes girl, but when fall rolls around it’s fun to incorporate some deeper tones and bold vamp colors. Here’s a selection of my favorite lip colors for fall.
Mac Heroine – This is a slightly brighter, plum-purple with warm undertones and a satin finish. I love Mac lipsticks that have a creamy consistency and great color payoff. This is definitely a pop of bright color for fall. With a price tag of $17, I would put this at an average priced lipstick and high end quality.
Colourpop Love Bug – This is a terracotta colored liquid matte lipstick. When I think of fall, I think of the leaves changing and the color rust. This lipstick gives a nice pop of fall color to any outfit. Plus it’s only $6 which is why I always gravitate to Colourpop vs. ABH.
Nyx Tea Rose – This matte lipstick by Nyx is less than $6 and has excellent coverage for a drugstore end lipstick. I love the Tea Rose color for fall because it’s a more muted mauve and makes me think of curling up in a cozy sweater with my favorite book.
Rimmel Airy Fairy – This is a blush based nude with a light sparkle and sheer coverage. It’s a cool toned nude which is great for any season, but very nice for a natural fall look. This is also a drugstore brand lipstick, but for less than $6 it’s such a steal.
Yves Saint Laurent #003 – This color is called Ultimate beige which is a peachy nude color. I absolutely love the packaging for this lipstick and it’s a very smooth silky lip color with great coverage. This lipstick is the high end one I am suggesting, since most people don’t want to spend over $30 on a lipstick. However, this is a color that goes with every outfit and can be worn all year long. It is definitely a staple color.
Nyx Chocolate Crepe – This is an intense butter gloss by Nyx, which is a nude with more mocha tones. I love this color when I want a deeper nude lip that has a bit of sheen. It’s starts out as a thick sticky texture, but over time the glossiness wears down and leaves a nice color behind.
L’Oreal Blake’s Red – Blake Lively’s shade is best described as an iconic red. It’s more on the cool side, kind of a bright cherry color. It gives a bold look that’s a bit Marilyn Monroe like. As for texture, the L’Oréal Riche has a modern lipstick feel: lightweight, balmy and it doesn’t dry out your lips. The finish isn’t quite a matte, just a creaminess with bold rich pigments. For less than $9 this lipstick is easy on your wallet.
Nars Liv – is described as a “deep aubergine.” It’s a cool-toned black cherry purple with a glossy shine. This color is definitely the Vamp lipstick for fall and winter. This lipstick is also on the high end spectrum at $32, but gives a dramatic depth to your lips.
Urban Decay Nighthawk – This brown red lipstick is such a dark sexy neutral shade that will take you from a fall day to an glamourous evening out on the town. The coverage on Urban Decay lipsticks is excellent.
Urban Decay Bad Blood – This lipstick is a red with blue undertones, which looks great on every skin tone. This is a matte lipstick that doesn’t dry your lips out and like Mac is a mid range priced lipstick at $17.
I hope this selection helps you pick a few colors for your fall palette. XoXo
